CASE STUDY

A multi-lingual organization uses Conductor to gain insight into staff experience

An Australian state-based non-profit community organization supporting settlement of migrants and refugees.

PROBLEM

In an effort to improve the organization and its programs, the client had implemented a range of approaches to collect staff feedback. Management was unhappy with the results.

•Cultural barriers contributed to low staff participation;

•Surveys failed to capture key issues; and

•Survey reports provided no practical insights or actionable recommendations.

SOLUTION

We ran a Conductor Audit across the organization to:

•Gain deeper insight into the core issues inhibiting staff participation.

•Invite staff to openly and confidentially express their opinions and suggest improvements; and

•Understand the impact that leadership was having on staff’s feelings of being valued, trusted, and supported.

OUTCOME

Staff responded to Conductor’s survey with a high (87%) response rate. They expressed their opinions candidly with many suggestions for organizational and program improvement.

The results identified key issues preventing team members from feeling safe to speak out.  Leadership learned how staff wellbeing and team performance were being hampered.

Insights from the survey data provided practical, actionable recommendations that could be immediately implemented at the leadership and team levels.

CONCLUSION

The Conductor Audit provided fresh insights and clear recommendations to the senior leadership team. The client now has an explicit plan to improve both its workplace dynamics and its community programs.
